Global Head of Banking and Expansion, Wise

Diana Avila is Global Head of Banking and Expansion at Wise and part of the Leadership Team, leading the international expansion of the company.
She is responsible for building and leading the global team that is making Wise’s services available in more jurisdictions for their growing 13 million customers. The Expansion team works with over 90 global financial partners to enable customers to use Wise around the world.  This team has contributed to Wise securing financial licences in 15 jurisdictions around the world, and are continuously working on further expansions.
When she first joined Wise in 2015, Diana was responsible for taking on the challenge of expanding Wise’s operations to Latin America through partnerships with financial institutions and securing new regulatory licences. Bringing transparency and a cheaper, faster and better solution for people to transfer money to and from that region requires working closely with local financial institutions and local regulators.
Diana is passionate about financial inclusion and innovation towards a better and more efficient financial system. Prior to Wise, she was working as a Financial Regulatory Lawyer in Colombia, enabling foreign financial institutions to operate in the local market.

Matt Parish

Head of Correspondent Banking Product, Wise Platform

Matt Parish is currently the Head of Product for Correspondent Banking at Wise Platform, responsible for leading the teams that build products for banks and financial institutions across Wise Platform’s API and Swift rails. Previously, he was a Group Product Manager at TrueLayer, focusing on eCommerce around the world. Over his tenure at TrueLayer, Matt Parish launched Variable Recurring Payments (VRP) in the UK, and managed the UK&I product, where he scaled Data usage by 10x and Payments volumes by over 100x. He also led the launch of TrueLayer’s first European market in Ireland, growing it to serve multiple clients and thousands of end-users. Before joining TrueLayer, he worked at Capco, specializing in architecture and open banking, and was part of the Capco team that helped launch Mettle, a new challenger bank funded by NatWest.

Roisin Levine is the Head of UK & Europe at Wise Platform, Wise’s market-leading global payment infrastructure for banks, financial institutions and enterprises around the world. Roisin has nearly ten years of experience in the fintech sector securing and managing strategic partnerships with banks and financial institutions.

Prior to joining Wise, Roisin was the Head of Banks at Flux, and has been awarded the Women in Fintech ‘Rising Star’ title three times.

Steve Naudé is the Managing Director of Wise Platform, Wise’s market-leading global payment infrastructure for banks, financial institutions and enterprises around the world. Wise Platform provides these organisations with the capabilities, technology and network to enable fast, secure and cost-effective international payments for their customers. Previously, Steve has worked on payments international expansion, as well as direct connections to payment schemes such as UK Faster Payments and Swift.

Executive Director for Payments, Bank of England

Victoria Cleland is the Executive Director for Payments. She leads the teams responsible for:

  • the operation and strategic development of the Bank’s payment systems. This includes:

i. the UK’s real‐time gross settlement (RTGS) service – the critical backbone of payments in the UK, settling over £775 billion of sterling payments and securities transactions each working day; and

ii. the wholesale payments system CHAPS.

  • the major Programme to renew the Bank’s RTGS infrastructure, ensuring it is fit for the future payments landscape.
  • the Bank’s policy approach to payments, in particular in relation to our RTGS and CHAPS operations, and international work to enhance cross-border payments.

Victoria is a member of the Bank for International Settlement’s Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI). And chairs the Financial Stability Board Cross Border Delivery Group, which oversees delivery of the G20 Roadmap to enhance cross-border payments.

Victoria is also a member of the Bank of England’s RTGS/CHAPS Board, which provides strategic leadership for the Bank’s RTGS infrastructure and CHAPS high-value payment system and the Renewal Executive Board.

Victoria has held several senior positions in a range of areas at the Bank of England. Most recent have included Executive Director for Banking, Payments and Innovation and as Chief Cashier, she was responsible for banknotes (from design to distribution) and led our early work on digital currencies.

Before that she was Deputy Head of the Special Resolution Unit, and previously Private Secretary to the Deputy Governor. Her previous roles also included overseeing payment and settlement systems, financing small businesses and graduate recruitment.

Victoria is the Executive Sponsor of our staff disAbility Network, a Director of the Business Disability Forum and an Ambassador for Sense.

Victoria has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Imperial College London.
